Editing external hard drives

Hi all.

is there a way to edit an external hard drive via the A6. Example: I’d like to delete some things off the hard drive. Or break the links in the library so that I don’t see them? Or add thumbnails.
Speaking of the thumbnails - I seem to be missing a lot .. is there an easier way to get them vs finding the thumbnail… and saving it to the folder on the hard drive? Is there an online database I’m missing?
