Z8 Remote Volume malfuctions

when trying to decrease the volume the volume will just keep increasing. If I pause, sometimes it will start to decrease but most often it will not until max volume has been reached 1st. In other words the volume - key will increase volume. The + nor - on the remote seem to function independently

any suggestions?
