Zidoo X6 not starting with VPN Express running

I cannot start my Zidoo with VPN express installed/running. The Zidoo logo runs, then a screen with the same background as the 'update' app background comes up and I am unable to do anything from here. The top bar shows that my VPN express has started and has secured my connection (see attachment) - this is the only thing I can think that will be doing this.

Reseting the device via the push button does not help - Please help, thanks in advance
